When I am pregnant I do not generally guess on whether I'm having a boy or a girl. I'm not one of those people who just know beyond a doubt one way or another.
This last go round if I had been hard pressed to make a guess I would have said that I thought it was a girl.
When little Levi arrived though it took a bit to get used to the fact that it was a he and not a she. 😉
Well, as he had been interacting more, talking and smiling he just makes us love him all the more.
Since he's just a little guy I didn't have much church type clothes for the size he's in. I hit up one of the local children's consignment shops for a few things. Then we played dress up and it sure was fun! 😊

Miss Joanna Joyce
An unexpected thing happened today.
My newest niece joined us five weeks early.
She is the first child and daughter of my sister Amanda and her husband Troy.
She weighed in at 4# 8oz. I can't wait to meet her!

Love the 2 yr old
Isaac is completely conversing with us now. I know all the other kiddos have done it but just hearing those full sentences coming out of his mouth is just.too.cute. I thought I'd record what happened the other day so that I will remember it.
I was on the floor sorting papers for school and Isaac walked up and poured a cup of water on them just because he's 2. I, with a solemn voice, said, "Isaac." He didn't miss a beat and said in his cutest little voice, "Charles Terrizzi!"
His full name is Isaac Charles Terrizzi in case you didn't know. I about died laughing that I must have used his entire name before when he's gotten into trouble (not that that ever happens) and he remembered it!
Two year olds have the cutest accent/language ever. Although I may have to have him repeat a sentence over and over to get it I love that opportunity. And whenever we sing hymns at bedtime and he gets to pick it's always "_Amaz-zing Gace!_ Cauze it's my favwit!"

2013 Visit to Chick Fil A
This year I had an extra cow (well 2 I guess!) in my herd. My youngest brother got to tag along with us and we had our own baby calf addition.
We had a busy day with a family reunion lunch in the morning. Then we went to see Sister Judy in the hospital and then went to Target for some things.
The evening before I had stayed up late ironing black shirts and cow outfits. I let a couple kids get double duty out of their black shirts and was just planning on switching the rest of everyone over when we changed at Target.
It wasn't until we were changing that I realized that I had left the rest of my black shirts at home!!! Oh boo, or moo maybe. ;)

A review of 2012
To close out 2012 I had thought it would be neat to do a review of some of the year.
I'm always slow at things and many blogs that I read did the same thing in a more timely manner than I! I really enjoyed the photo collages a friend did so I decided to go that route.
(Sorry to be a copycat Susan!)

The beach trip that killed the camera...
So way back in April our family took it's first (and what ended up being only) trip to the beach.
We tried out one we had never been to before that you could drive close to the shore and park.

The kiddos had a blast, Isaac loved the sand. Everywhere you walked though you sunk waaaaay down but Isaac thought the holes were great to look in and apparently crawling like a crab was much more efficient than walking! ;)

While there we encountered a sand storm and we were literally caught in cloud of sand swarming all around us!

I wanted a group shot so here are our attempts. Mercy wanted to hold Isaac, he did not want to be held at all and Julia was very upset that she didn't get to hold him. ;)
So we let her hold him for the next shot and she was happy but he still was not!

The children found a neat little crab they brought home and then someone little snapped this last shot of me unloading the suburban before the camera decided to never work again.
Although I kept it safe in the diaper bag during our trip that sand storm got sand everywhere and ruined the camera. We had hoped to be able to revive it but it never did and we didn't replace it until December which is partially why the blog went blank. Not a good excuse but one of the reasons why. I'm hoping to be more diligent this year, we shall see!

Miss Mercy
Miss Mercy, she is a bundle of energy.
She has 2 volumes, loud and off (meaning asleep!)
I thought she was just going to be a one of kind type of girl in those aspects but alas,
she has trained her younger sister to be her partner in crime.
She has got the biggest smile and while her hair isn't as curly as her big sister
I just love it when the humidity hits her.
She has this silky hair and it will make the most gorgeous ringlets.
Notice the wide blue eye look in this picture,
this is a very typical, signature Mercy face!
We just love her from the top of her head to the tips of her toes!

Redneck Rollerskates
Not every little girl is so fortunate to have a big brother who invents redneck rollerskates for his little sister. Made with love with train pieces held in place with rubber bands!
Just a *tad* bit scary but she was oh so excited if you can't tell by her face! :)
*Disclaimer: No children were harmed in the photographing of this post. ;)

My little herd
After having missed Chick Fil A's Cow Appreciation Day last year due to being sick the kiddos were even more excited to get to dress up like cows and go this year.
On the rare occasions we go I
1) always go through the drive thru
and
2) by a few things to split up amongst everyone
My little herd was thrilled that we
1) went inside to eat
2) got their own food
and
3) got to play in the play area!
Simple things but it was special to see them enjoying themselves so much.
And I tried to make their outfits such where they can where them next year as well.
Hopefully all the prep work is done. :)
And this adorable little cow went to greet his daddy when he got home from work that evening.
This was after a nap, as you can see in the above picture that he was a grumpy cow before his nap. ;)

Oh So Easy Ice Cream Cake :)
I found this post unpublished from about a year and a half ago at least! I was getting ready to make this again and thought it too fun and easy of a dessert not to share. Enjoy
I don't know why I am torturing myself with a post like this. ;) I have a cough that just will not leave me be so eating ice cream is definitely not in my vocabulary as possible menu items right now. I'm still 5 wks out but already feel like I'm about to pop and that someone pulled the plug on my energy. Where oh where is that nesting energy rush? I am gonna need it! :)
But anyways, I made this about a month ago and it was only the 3rd time I've made it but it is easy, pretty and of course, yummy! My sister pulled it out of a Kraft recipe magazine but I made a couple modifications to it but it is a really nice treat.
What you need:
12 ice cream sandwiches
1 pint heavy whipping cream (or you can use Cool Whip)
1 small box chocolate pudding
8-10 oreo cookiesWhat you need:
12 ice cream sandwiches
1 pint heavy whipping cream (or you can use Cool Whip)
1 small box chocolate pudding
1/2 cup chocolate syrup (or fudge topping warmed)
So I start off with homemade whipped cream, chocolate syrup, a box of chocolate pudding and a package of oreos. Use what you'd like but I use all organic to help me feel better. ;)
Take 1/2 cup chocolate syrup and mix the pudding mix into it, then add 1 cup whipped cream.
Chop up 8-10 oreos and stir in. Try not to eat too much!

Just for us
Yesterday late afternoon we had a very strong storm blow through. The house shook with the thunderings and lightnings literally right on top of us. The winds kicked up so much we suspected a tornado might blow through. Then as the storm started to taper off one of the children looked out the living room window and spied a rainbow. How exciting! We all ran onto the front porch to see it. And indeed, there was the beginning of a rainbow touching the street right in front of our house just feet away. We decided to see how high the rainbow went and MUCH to our surprise did we then discover that we had an ENTIRE mini rainbow completely in front of our house! If you've never been to our house before it is very special that the rainbow was the exact width of our property. We could see the whole rainbow right there! Caleb put it rightly that we would have never expected God to have given us such a special gift and promise. He truly is wonderful, powerful and glorious! Here is a link to the video that Charles was able to capture of this unexpected special event. We will remember it for years to come!
After the excitement Mercy went and drew a picture of the marvelous creation we just experienced. :)

Once Upon a Time...
...the mommy and the Caleb were doing school at the kitchen counter. When all of the sudden a little face popped up!

Hi! I'm cute and I grew a whole foot in 2 seconds.

It's been way too long...
I have had to share the PC with the hubby quite a bit during this slow season, yes mine is still inoperable. So, I thought I would try to attempt blogging from my phone. Here goes nothing! ;)
And there you have it! Complete with a horrible phone picture taken tonight of most of my monkeys with their daddy.
Have a lovely weekend!

Life as a Mom
To start off the new year I love being a mom. Even though the days can get crazy there is truly no other way I would want them to be. I read this cute poem today that I thought I would share for all the other mommies out there as well. :)
IF YOU GIVE A MOM A MUFFIN-
"If you give a mom a muffin, she'll want a cup of coffee to go with it. She'll pour herself some. Her three-year-old will spill the coffee. She'll wipe it up. Wiping the floor, she will find dirty socks. She'll remember she has to do laundry. When she puts the laundry in the washer, she'll trip over boots and bump into the freezer. Bumping into the freezer will remind her she has to plan supper. She will get out a pound of hamburger. She'll look for her cookbook. (101 Things To Make With A Pound Of Hamburger.) The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail. She will see the phone bill, which is due tomorrow. She will look for her checkbook. The checkbook is in her purse that is being dumped out by her two-year-old. She'll smell something funny. She'll change the two-year-old. While she is changing the two-year-old the phone will ring. Her five-year-old will answer and hang up. She'll remember that she wants to phone a friend to come for coffee. Thinking of coffee will remind her that she was going to have a cup. She will pour herself some. And chances are, if she has a cup of coffee, her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it."

A year overdue...
Last October we went for a trip to the Street's farm. I meant to post pictures a loooong time ago but forgot that this post was sitting in drafts....for oops....about a year!
Turkeys and geese on the farm
Peeking in at the momma on her nest.
It's an egg!
A very special treat of getting to see a two day old calf.
Mercy petting it, I'm not sure what it finally got named...
