Back to blogging...

Hi all!

I am really going to try and get better with my posting schedule (lol!). So much to post but I decided I should probably head back to where I left off.

The children really did enjoy getting to eat earth balls and make the volcano erupt, we are definitely going to have to do more projects together! And in no particular order (since blogger was being a pain and I have laundry I need to go fold) here are the pictures from that night.

I was a bit disappointed that a full eruption was not caught on film but as I was directing the children I am just grateful someone was willing to use my camera and get a few shots for memories.

So we all had fun learning about the earth, mountains & volcanoes,

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

How Time Flies...

My parents and brother, sis-in-law and nephew are in GA for a family conference and some fellowship with friends. Charles is at home sanding and getting ready to finish the hardwood floors in our bedroom. Because of the dust and smell of the chemicals and such we've moved into mom and dad's for a couple of nights.

The kids (besides Julia) are still having a hard time going to sleep in a strange place, I can still hear them tossing in the room down the hall and it's 10pm! Maybe they'll sleep in tomorrow?! :) I have a bazillion projects I should be working on but instead I'm looking through pics on my parent's computer. ;)

I found these of Julia with her Uncle Will and I am just amazed at how much difference 4 months makes! (Oh, and my parent's computer will not let me move pictures - they uploaded backwards of what I wanted - or let me put text above the top photo - blah!)

She is about 3 weeks old in the bottom pictures and then about a week shy of 5 months in the top pictures. I just love my little girl and am so thankful for her. :) And I love seeing my brother love on the babies...he does tend to like the smaller ones, once they reach a little bit older he can get a bit irritated by them, lol! Rush is almost 8 now so Will has kind of forgotten what it's like to have little kids in the house. Doesn't he know what I put up with?! Hehe! :)

Hope you all are having a lovely Friday evening with your families. ♥

Ladybug day!

This past Sunday was ladybug day. :) We had planned Julia and Evangeline matching but then the girls' little friend Hope came to church wearing hers too!

>And just one more picture with some other "little ladies". :)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Family Pictures Coming Soon!

Next week we are going to have our family pictures done and I am SO excited. :)

A few days ago my friend and I went and looked at locations to do our session. She took some shots of the children while we were scouting out the area. If you'd like to see them go here!

Science Experiment

It's always more fun to do things with friends! So tonight we are packing up our science experiments and are taking them to church. :) We have been studying mountains, volcanoes, and the earth for "science". We are taking earth balls that we (when I say "we" I mean "I" with children watching) made yesterday. ;)

Peanut butter, honey, chocolate chips...a good start eh?

powdered milk, graham cracker crumbs and sesame seeds...

strawberry jelly as the "inner magma"

roll 'em around

chill and then cut through the layers to see the core, inner magma, outer magma and the earth's crust!

Then comes the volcano...my style...easy! It was actually in the book and quite perfect for a small scale experiment!

8 oz plastic water bottle filled halfway full with baking soda, with foil crinkled around it then covered in a layer of modeling clay.

Vinegar dyed red, ready to make our eruption! :)

I hope to get a few pics of all the little kids participating tonight...my kids can hardly wait!

Jewelry

So over a year ago I found this store and while I am not a huge silver fan some of this girls stuff makes my mouth water but is just a bit too expensive for me to just purchase for myself! :) Isn't this necklace pretty? If you subscribe to her blog and newsletter there are plenty of specials, sales, and chances to win her things (I haven't won anything yet but it's worth a try!).

A few days ago though I found this store and she has a larger variety of such delicate little things...almost makes me forget that I hardly wear silver, but anyways she is doing a giveaway! All you have to do is let her know what you like and you are entered! Just thought I would share. :)
