It cracks me up to see Charis, I wonder where she gets that stance from? ;)

Taken at a surprise 30th birthday party we were hosting last weekend. :)

Kajamaz!

So Charis of course did not know she had been blogged about yesterday on the subject of her "kajamaz" but last night she came up to me and said, "Look Momma!" I'll have you know this is not as crazy as her sleepwear can get (this is a bit more coordinated than usual - think hippie, 70's style, African, etc). But I grabbed the camera to give you a glimpse. When she saw I was going to take her picture she grabbed that stem of silk flowers and said she thought they would go well in the picture. :)

Instead of kajamaz that are actually meant to be that it was a choice of shirt from her shirt drawer, some play pants she uses under her skirt for outside, a bracelet and a beautiful headband. ;)

She's really into headbands right now and will get up in the morning and push one on with the frizzy hair and all. I will put it on top of her head where it is supposed to go but because she can't see it there she'll run by a few minutes later and it'll be almost on her forehead again where she can *see* it. Kinda reminds me of Geordi La Forge off of Star Trek but most of y'all probably won't know who that is anyway, lol. ;)

6/52

Sorry I missed last week, I was getting ready for a party and had no time. :)
Ok, so this isn't me but what I would look like if I had shorter hair....Charis wakes up each morning looking pretty much like this but I did help her out a bit, on purpose.
It was just for fun, funny how she doesn't look too thrilled though. ;)

*grin*

You can see why Charles has dubbed us, "fuzzball" and "fuzzyheadedmomma". :D

Having some fun.

AGH!

Ah, after we braided our hair we look like entirely different creatures. ;)

Thanks be to God for the following verse of Scripture:

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17

May all of you enjoy a blessed weekend and Lord's Day with your family! ♥

"Charisisms"

Charis is a funny girl, we just love her to death.

Her blond curly hair grows straight through to her brain though. ;)

Below she has an ice cream bar stick which upon having finished eating it she said, "Mommy look! I'm doggie and here's my bone!" (insert complete sound effects of doggie panting and licking the said bone)

When going outside to play she says, "I want to go play on the jumpoline!" (that's interpreted trampoline)

For breakfast she likes to eat homemade "bamella". (that's granola in case you were wondering)

And for bedtime she is very particular about putting on "kajamaz". (pajamas - of course! which sometimes happen to be an item of clothing out of each drawer of her dresser...I should take a pic of that sometime!)

And during devotion Charles was reading in Matthew about the parable of the wedding feast and how it relates to each of us. He said that God was inviting each of us to come and there were those who refused to come. The children were listening intently and asking some pretty good questions. But then Charles told them that God was inviting each of them as well. Charis got this inquisitive look on her face and asked, "We're invited to the wedding?" Charles told her yes. She then jumped up off the couch exclaiming, "Hey we get to go to a wedding in the Bible!" Like she was just gonna jump right in the book and thought it was such a cool idea.

(love that girl)

French Braids

Growing up as a little girl I always loved it when my momma would french braid our hair. Finally my little girlies hair is just long enough to braid. (And Mercy actually held still, w.o.w.!!)

So one morning not too long ago they both got their hair done, now granted, it doesn't last a very long time before it starts falling apart but it sure is cute while it lasts. :)

Amanda and I have been trying to walk every day. Mom has let C & C do workbook pages at her house so that way we only have to take the double stroller with Mercy & Julia. Normally J will doze off but M had gotten up a bit early that morning herself and was taking a bit of a snooze when we got home. And yes, it is highly fashionable to wear rain boots with your daily attire. ;)

Spring Breakfast

So, a few weekends ago when the hubbies were either working or playing and mom & everyone else were traveling Emily invited us over for a spring breakfast. :)

She had it outside and we had pancakes and waffles, yum!

The kids got to play hide and seek with the plastic bugs and then we put some music on and did some musical chairs and then just some fun play.

It was a beautiful morning and we enjoyed ourselves a bunch! :)

Charlotte Surfing...

...is one of Mercy's favorite sports. :)

This is a very common sight to see at our house. Julia will crawl up to Charlotte now and Charlotte just looks at her like, oh boy, there's another one of you little things that's gonna be crawling all over me soon. ;)

Love the breed for this particular reason.

And yes, Mercy has put pajama's on top of her clothing...they are monkey jammies too, quite fitting for our little monkey!
